Any site submitted
to a web directory will be reviewed by a human being. With this in mind,
the following guidelines will guide you through the process of submitting
a site to any web directory:
Site preparation for web site
directory submissions
- Before submitting, make
sure your site is fully functional. There should be no broken links,
no broken images, and ideally, your site should display properly in
any major web browser.
- A initial keyword marketing
strategy should already have been formulated, revised, and finalized.
- Familiarize yourself with
all possible categories where your site could be placed. If category
guidelines are available READ THEM - a submission that adheres to guidelines
is not only more likely to get accepted quickly, it is more likely to
go through unedited.
- Review the existing sites
in your desired category, and formulate your description to be consistent
in length and style with those already listed.
- Determine your 5 top keywords/phrases
and create an ineligible sentence, phrase or two for your description.
- Make sure the title and
description you submit, accurately reflect what one will find on your
site. No matter what your company does, or what keywords you would like
your site to garner rankings for, if the site does not reflect the description
you submit, it will probably be edited.
- The title of your site,
will be the name of your company, with no tag-lines, and no descriptions
in the title.
- The description should be
no longer than twenty-five words.
